Second convocation: Think of solutions not problems, advises Ghosh



St Joseph’s College of saw the convocation of its second batch of graduates and post-graduates under its autonomous status on Saturday, August 8. Hundreds of enthusiastic graduates actively witnessed and participated in this special event.

The chief guest, Shubhendu Ghosh, an ex-Josephite, gave a special touch to the event with his distinguished presence. Currently he is the Principal General Manager, Bangalore Telecom District, BSNL.

Mr Ghosh said, “We need to have good leaders like APJ Abdul Kalam for tasting success in the present scenario. The education in colleges should mainly focus on creating critical minds and concern towards society. We need to learn to appreciate every success that is achieved.”

Regarding autonomy, Mr Ghosh opined, “The bestowing of autonomy on St Joseph’s has accelerated it to excellence.” He went on to say, “We live in a time of technological innovations

and development that could lead to information overload. And this knowledge has to be shared with

students without any compromise, not just to have degrees, rather to serve the humanity, which really matters.”

His advised students saying, “Please think in terms of solutions not in terms of problems. This is the real key to success in life. Never be pessimistic.”

“Always remember your teachers who have been your core builders. Now you are entering a world filled with turbulence and uncertainty; it is unclear how long it will last. But I can assure you from my experience that this college will equip you to succeed. The world is eagerly awaiting you. Enjoy whatever you do. Also, please come back to Joseph's

and share your experience with people.

Always remember that what you have gone through in school and college

will carry you throughout your life,” Mr Ghosh said.
