Rise beyond differences, says Vice Principal

On the Independence Day, the Vice Principal, Fr Clarence D’Souza SJ called upon students to remember the sacrifice of the freedom fighters who fought hard to make India a Free State.

He was speaking after unfurling the flag on Independence Day, in the absence of the Principal.

Fr Clarence said: “There are four major landmarks of the freedom struggle which all of must be aware of. They are the Swadeshi Movement, the Satyagraha Movement, the Swaraj Movement and finallythe Quit India Movement. It is through these unique Movements of Gandhiji and others that we are enjoying our Freedom today.”

He also called upon the students to remember the scores of freedom fighters who ‘gave their yesterday for our today’. We must cherish and nourish the blessings of freedom, the Vice-Principal added. “The challenge for us today is to nurture this Freedom. Our science and social researches and technology must help us make this world a better place. The grater challenge of the Freedom is to rise beyond the differences ofcaste, language etc.,” Fr Clarence opined.
