She was speaking at a workshop organised by the E-Cell to encourage and motivate students to be effective entrepreneurs. The workshop was help in educating them towards the significance and need for social entrepreneurship. Its aim was to teach the students how to work in a team and organize themselves towards a common vision.
Around 25 students actively participated in the workshop, which held constructive activities like forming a square blindfolded with their teammates using a rope. The activity involved first to identify what the item was and what they could do with the rope with closed eyes. It enabled the students to learn about team work and leadership skills. It also judged the participants on their level of honesty. The activity was later analysed to discover problems relating to entrepreneurship like coordination, lack of communication, selfishness, overconfidence and lack of listening skills among team members. “It was an effective activity, where people voluntarily involved themselves. It was a combination of fun and knowledge,” said Sudeep, a student of CEZ. The students were motivated and strive to make efforts to improve their skills and use them effectively.
Dr Subhashini encouraged the students by stating, “An entrepreneurship will always have problems, it’s like a blind man walking, but one should have faith in oneself and others and improve one’s skills.” She later added, “Team work is an important part of any activity. Whatever is one’s level of honesty, it should be practiced everyday in our lives. Trying to put your leg in by removing the others is not how you define honesty.”
The E-Cell is working towards organising an activity on August 15, with a view to prepare good entrepreneurs in the College.
