The biotechnology department of SJC inaugurated the Green Gene guild (GGG) on Thursday. This event is a benchmark achievement for the Biotechnology Department. 
Speaking on the occasion, Mithra Madhappa. M.B, HOD, biotechnology department, said, “GGG evolves only because of you all. Teachers are just a support, the College is just a name. Biotechnology department itself has to programme with your mind, with your innovation and also your support.”
Dr Grace Sharon Arun Selvi, lecturer, department of Biotechnology, said, “The Green Gene guild is a departmental organisation of Biotechnology department which is operating for about 9 years. We have the student bodies that take care of action of GGG.” She also said that the GGG had conducted the bio-Olympia in association with Microbiology department. “It conducts wo
rkshops and seminars for students, along with an annual magazine published by them, called HELIX,” she added.
Siddarth, a student of I CBBT said, “The whole thing is a learning experience. It is a lot of fun.”
Games were also being organised by the seniors to welcome the freshers.
