Film Making and Animation Courses
11 June. Many have been asking me about our two new B.Voc. programmes - 1) Visual Media and Filmmaking, and 2) Digital Media and Animation.

They are happening. We have received official approval from the UGC.
Admissions will begin next week. We will update details in a couple of days.

Admission Procedure:
You have to make a new online application. It is only online! If you have any difficulties, please come to the College with the necessary documents, and we will help you in filling up applications.  [You need documents like marks cards, soft copy pp-size photographs (with a hard copy, preferably), a DD for Rs. 300/- addressed to Principal, St Joseph's College Bangalore, towards for application and all your personal details.]

There will be an entrance test mid-next week (date is to be announced); it could be Thursday. Most Probably, if everything goes on well!
The test will be followed by an personal interview.

Please remember, these are Under Graduate/ Bachelor's courses like BVC (Visual Communication). The difference  is the two new programmes are much focused, and are industry-oriented. You can leave the course at the end of any year, with a Diploma (after completing one year) or Advanced Diploma (after completing two years) or Bachelor's degree (after completing three full years successfully).

Course details:
These courses aim to help you become confident and proficient in one of the core components of the programme, like Photography, Cinematography & Editing, and Documentary/Music Videos, etc (B.Voc.- Visual Media & Filmmaking) or Graphic Design, 2-D Animation, or 3-D Modelling and Animation (B.Voc.- Digital Media & Animation)

Classes are expected to begin on 30 June 2014.

For any clarification, you may contact the Head of the Department of Communication, Rev Dr Richard Rego SJ or the College office.

Other disciplines will demand that you know about those respective fields a bit - if not much. Definitely, we look for good learning attitude.

Entrance Tests for Post Graduate Courses

20 Apr. Entrance tests for many of our post graduate programmes at St Joseph's College (Autonomous), Bangalore would be held on 27th April, in the morning.

In case, you have not received an invitation for the test, you could still come, but with the printed copy of your online application and the DD.

PG Programmes like MS Mass Communication, MSW, Chemistry, and Microbiology have entrance tests followed by personal interviews (Note: some like Botany, English, Political Science, Economics, Computers may have only interviews! These are most likely to be on Monday, 28/04/2014)

For Mass Comm, your test will be in the morning at 9.00 O'Clock. The results of the written test would be posted on the College website and on this blog that night; and those selected, will be invited for personal interviews on the following day (28/4/2014).

Well, we expect you to be journalists or professional communicators. But we expect that you be aware of the world around you, about which you come to know from newspapers, television news channels, radio or news websites. And, of course, an openness and readiness to work hard to build your future.

Those Under Graduate programmes which have written entrance tests, will have them on 18/05/2014, followed by personal interviews the next day. There are a few other UG courses, which have only interviews. And these will be held from next week till the first week of May, according to their schedules. Hopefully, most of you have received your invite! If not, please get back to the College.
