They are happening. We have received official approval from the UGC.
Admissions will begin next week. We will update details in a couple of days.

Admission Procedure:
You have to make a new online application. It is only online! If you have any difficulties, please come to the College with the necessary documents, and we will help you in filling up applications.  [You need documents like marks cards, soft copy pp-size photographs (with a hard copy, preferably), a DD for Rs. 300/- addressed to Principal, St Joseph's College Bangalore, towards for application and all your personal details.]

The test will be followed by an personal interview.

Please remember, these are Under Graduate/ Bachelor's courses like BVC (Visual Communication). The difference  is the two new programmes are much focused, and are industry-oriented. You can leave the course at the end of any year, with a Diploma (after completing one year) or Advanced Diploma (after completing two years) or Bachelor's degree (after completing three full years successfully).

Course details:
These courses aim to help you become confident and proficient in one of the core components of the programme, like Photography, Cinematography & Editing, and Documentary/Music Videos, etc (B.Voc.- Visual Media & Filmmaking) or Graphic Design, 2-D Animation, or 3-D Modelling and Animation (B.Voc.- Digital Media & Animation)

Classes are expected to begin on 30 June 2014.

For any clarification, you may contact the Head of the Department of Communication, Rev Dr Richard Rego SJ or the College office.

SJC to Start Two New Professional Courses

SJC to Start Two New Professional Media Courses

06 June. In the last few weeks many of you have been asking about the two new courses: B.Voc. or Bachelor of Vocation [specialisation]. We have the official word from the UGC now: the UGC has asked us to start these two Vocational courses: Bachelor of Vocation [Visual Media and Film-making] and Bachelor of Vocation [Digital Media and Animation].

In the next two days, we will come up with admission procedures for you. The courses will begin in the next two weeks - towards the end of June.
If a student completes the entire course, these are three year Under Graduate (UG) courses, like the current BVC or Visual Communication.
The beauty of these courses is you can enter and exit after a year or two and still get appropriate certificate like Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelors!
