Online Admission to St Joseph's College (Autonomous) Bangalore

18 May Entrance Tests: MS Communication, Bachelor in Visual Communication (BVC), B.A. Journalism with English & Psychology (EJP), and BCA.
--------------------------
04 May. In the last few days, some people have been telling us that they are unable to do online application due to server problems. Probably, you will have to try it in different browsers like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. I use Chrome, and am successful in accessing the page. Many others from various places in India and abroad have successfully applied online, too!

After entering the College portal, clicking on "admissions" http://sjc.ac.in/index.php/inner/page_id/134  menu should lead you to:

http://203.201.60.218:8080/KnowledgePro/admissionFormSubmit.do?method=initOutsideSinglePageAccess&tempLogin=1&isOffline=0  That is the application proper!

Before filling in your online application, please keep ready all the necessary records/documents with you, including soft copy of your photograph (PP), marks in the all the previous examinations, a DD for either Rs. 300/ for UG programmes or Rs. 500/ for PG programmes. At the end, take a print out of your fill-in application, and along with the DD, post it to the Principal. (a detailed list is copied below, for you)

As soon as the office receives your filled-in hard copy application, you will receive an email intimating you about its reception, entrance test and personal interviews (if applicable). If you don't get, kindly check your spam/trash folder. After that, you may contact the office.

After doing everything to apply online, if problems still persist and you are unable to complete the application, please contact the ID given below with the exact nature of the problem: admissionenquiry@sjc.ac.in

Another option: You could come with your ward/parent to the College before the entrance test day (18/05/2014) - that is on a weekday. You will be provided computer systems with internet connection and printers and assistance to do the formalities.

Or, if you want to speak to someone, please use the office telephone found on the college website. Only the Communication-programme aspirants/parents may contact Fr Richard Rego, since he won't be able to answer queries related to other departments. You may also contact him on for Communication Dept purpose.

  3. Akshay Balan, nobody knows what kind of entrance test to expect for the EJP day!? I asked the organisers, and they did not have an answer! (Let's say they don't want you to prepare anything MORE than what you already know FOR THIS TEST)!

  4. How can I print another copy of my filled in application form online? What is the Receipt that they have mentioned to bring along for the Entrance test (BVC)?

  5. George EV, I guess you can't print another copy of your filled-in and submitted online application, if you have not saved it in your system (say as pdg.etc).
You will have to call/ personally contact the College office and discuss with them with the whatever you have (at least the DD!?) And that may have to be done a few days before the entrance test (since the test is on a Sunday and admission office may not be accessible to you)

  6. Thanks for the info. Appreciate the same. But, when I asked for a copy of the Application after collecting the DD, I was told everything will be processed with the application number and that you do not need a copy. I hope this holds good.

  7. George EV, there won't be a problem, as long as either we have your complete application (with all the requirements) or you have some proof of submission of the hard copy. Come with whatever you have.

  8. Hi, I'm from Shillong, Meghalaya and I've applied for BVC. I would like to know if the test is conducted only in Bangalore or are there other exam centres that I'm not aware of, as it is quite far from where I stay. I have already paid for the admission test through debit card and I want to know whether I have to write the transaction number in the application form itself or in a separate paper. Also, I haven't received the original marks card from the state board but I have a printed copy given from their website of the same. I hope it would be acceptable atleast till I receive the original copy.

  9. Dear Warimika, the entrance test is conducted only at St Joseph's College Bangalore; no other centre.
If you are coming for the test, please bring whatever records you have - including the bank transaction records.
Your web-printed marks card would do for now.
    Best!

  11. sir when is the last date for ug form submission... please reply

  12. Anonymous, there is no "last date" for application submission. We close the admissions as and when seats get filled, except for programmes which have entrance test and/or interviews.
For example, BVC (Viscomm), EJP, BSW, BCA, MS Communication, Physics, Micro, MSW, Economics, and English had entrance test/interviews, and admissions are closed. Now only those who are put on hold following interviews will be considered.
Other progarmme aspirants could still apply, but before that, it would be advisable to contact the office.

    1. Anonymous, there is no last date as long as the seats don't get filled. Those courses which had entrance tests and/or interviews have already closed for admission; no more applications accepted.
A few of those which didn't have entrance tests/interviews, are still accepting application. In Karnataka state, we don't have 'Honours' programme system. It is three optionals system at UG level. I mean, with Political Science, you get two more subjects to study; you need to study those (like English optional and Economics or Sociology or History, etc.)This is besides the Obligatory/ basic English and another Foreign/Indian paper everyone has to opt for.
